Unaccompanied Minors

Children aged 5 to 11
We provide a staff member who will receive the child from the accompanying adult at the departure airport and hand the child over to the designated receiving person upon arrival.

The following charges apply:

full adult fare (no child discount);

UM fee – EUR 70 per flight segment;

for domestic flights – EUR 40 per one-way flight.

Children aged 12 to 18
At the parents’ request, children aged between 12 and 18 may also use the service upon payment of the UM fee. The service and conditions are the same as those applicable to children aged 5 to 11.

Request and confirmation

The service must be requested in advance through Bulgaria Air’s Customer Service Centre and is subject to confirmation.

Reservation details

After confirmation, the following information must be included in the child’s reservation:

age and date of birth;

details of the accompanying and receiving persons – full name, address, and phone number.

Unaccompanied Minor form

The form may be:

completed at the airport before the flight, or

downloaded in advance from here, completed, and submitted at check-in prior to the flight.

Flight operated by another airline

If the flight is operated by another airline, different conditions may apply. In such cases, please contact Bulgaria Air’s Customer Service Centre:

Important!

The service cannot be requested or paid for at the airport before the flight.

Requests submitted less than 48 hours before the scheduled departure time will be declined.

Paid fees are non-refundable.

The child must carry a valid passport.

For domestic flights, the passport may be replaced by a birth certificate (original or notarised copy).

Bulgaria Air accepts unaccompanied minors on flights with transfers via Sofia Airport only if contact details are provided and a designated accompanying/receiving person is ensured at the transfer point.

One cabin crew member may accompany up to two children from the same family (siblings) travelling together.

For two children from the same family travelling together, only one UM fee is charged.

London – Sofia: GBP 70

Sofia – Zurich: 136.90 BGN / EUR 70

Zurich – Sofia: CHF 70

Sofia – Tel Aviv: 136.90 BGN / EUR 70

UM fee of 78.23 BGN / EUR 40 for domestic flights.

Children aged 12 to 18

At the parents’ request, children aged between 12 and 18 may also use the Unaccompanied Minor service upon payment of the UM fee. They receive the same service as children aged 5 to 11.
